The María de Maeztu Particle Physics Unit organized the conference “International Meeting on Fundamental Physics 2018” in Salamanca

History and Science got together on the week of 9th to 13th of April in the Arzobispo Fonseca College in Salamanca. The International Meeting on Fundamental Physics 2018 (IMFP18), organized by members of the Marúa de Maeztu Particle Physics Unit of CIEMAT, reviewed the current status of the scientific research and the latest experimental results obtained in  the fields of Particle Physics, Astroparticles and Cosmology. This XLVI edition took place in Salamanca, adding up to the celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Salamanca University foundation.

Around 80 national and international scientists participated in this meeting. Among the programmed activities a public conference was offered at the Science Faculty of the Salamanca University. The conference was  about gravitational waves, hot scientific topic awarded with Nobel Prize in Physics 2017.
