DES public data release

On January 10th, 2018, the Dark Energy Survey project, of which the MdM CFP Unit is a member, made public the first three years of observations (DES DR1). The data is accessible through this link.

This dataset is made up by catalogues containing more than 300 million galaxies and almost 100 million stars, being to date the biggest dataset of this type available to the general public. This data compilation and cleaning project, co-lead by Ignacio Sevilla Noarbe, a member of the MdM CFP Unit, will allow the astronomy community to make scientific discoveries using an unprecedented collection of galactic and extragalactic celestial objects.
